Description
The Twin Bridges
Historic I-74 Mississippi River Crossing | Bettendorf, Iowa – Moline, Illinois
For generations, the Twin Bridges stood as familiar landmarks connecting Iowa and Illinois across the Mississippi River. Their distinctive suspension spans became part of the Quad Cities landscape and a recognizable symbol of travel, industry, and regional history.
Photographed by Jeremy Glazier in December 2019, The Twin Bridges preserves a view of the original structures before their eventual removal.
Unlike a conventional photographic print, this artwork has been carefully transformed through digital editing to evoke the visual qualities of a traditional painting. Subtle brushlike textures, softened details, and atmospheric tones give the photograph an expressive, fine-art character while preserving its photographic origins.
The result is a photographic interpretation that combines documentary history with artistic expression.
