About the Film
From Iowa and Back is a feature-length documentary preserving the stories and experiences of Iowa men and women who served their country during the Vietnam era. Through their own words, photographs, and personal histories, the film offers an intimate look at military service, coming home, and the lasting impact of that generation.
While the stories in From Iowa and Back are rooted in Iowa, the experiences of military service, sacrifice, family and coming home reach far beyond state lines. Community screenings are available for organizations and communities in Iowa and beyond.

What Can a Screening Include
Each screening can be tailored to the community and venue. Depending on the event, a screening may include:

- A post-film Q&A
- Discussion with veterans and community members
- Recognition of local veterans
- Potential interviews with Vietnam-era veterans for the continuing project
Bringing These Stories to Communities
From Iowa and Back has been presented through theaters, libraries, veterans organizations, and community-sponsored events across Iowa, and the project is now expanding to communities beyond the state. Each screening is an opportunity to recognize veterans, encourage conversation, and preserve the experiences of the Vietnam-era generation.
