From Iowa and Back Film Screening in Lake City, September 12

From Iowa and Back Vietnam Era documentary Lake City screening at the Capri Theatre September 12, 2026

From Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era is coming to the Capri Theatre in Lake City, Iowa, on Saturday, September 12 at 1:00 PM.

The documentary shares the stories of Iowa veterans who served during the Vietnam era, preserving their memories through interviews, portrait photography, and film. The film grew out of my own family story and has since become a journey across Iowa, bringing veterans, families, and communities together to remember a generation whose experiences deserve to be preserved.

Thanks to the Friends of the Community Memorial Building, the first 50 guests will be admitted free.

The Lake City screening is co-hosted by Darcy Maulsby and Central School Preservation, with free popcorn provided by Calhoun County Farm Bureau and free soda from Dougherty Farm of Lake City.
