Echoes of the Old Trade — Fine Art Photographic Print

Independence, Iowa

Painted on the exterior brickwork of the historic Old Wapsie feed mill in Independence, Iowa, this fading advertisement recalls the days when local mills supplied flour, grain, and feed to their communities. Its promise of free delivery to all parts of the city preserves a small but revealing detail of everyday commerce.

In Echoes of the Old Trade, Jeremy Glazier documents the sign’s worn lettering, cracked paint, and textured masonry. The photograph captures a surviving trace of the mill’s commercial past, presented with a carefully composed white border and an archival-style title identifying its location.

Part of the Historic Signs & Ghost Signs fine-art photography collection, this image complements The Old Wapsie, another photograph documenting Independence’s historic mill architecture.
